Gather under the moon

Each month we mark the new and full moon with sound, breath and intention, on the beach or somewhere special.

Why the moon

A monthly pause, taken together.

The new moon is for beginnings: setting an intention and planting something quietly. The full moon is for release: letting go of what the month has left behind.

You are welcome with curiosity and an open mind. Each circle offers space for personal reflection and shared presence.

The two circles

New moon and full moon

Two moments in the lunar cycle, each offering a different invitation for reflection.

Dark sky

The new moon

The moon is invisible from earth, and the sky is at its darkest. Traditionally this is the beginning of the cycle, and the circle is quiet and inward.

Through quiet reflection and intention setting, we explore what we would like to welcome into the coming month. You may write an intention, keep it private and return to it in your own time.

Good if you are starting something, or want to.

Full light

The full moon

The moon is fully lit and the beach is bright enough to see faces. The energy of the circle is fuller, and the gong usually plays longer.

The full moon circle offers space to reflect on what feels complete and what you are ready to set down. Through meditation, sound and private reflection, you are invited to meet the next chapter with presence.

Good if something needs to end, or be put down.

Why gather at all

The month has a rhythm, whether you mark it or not

People have gathered at the new and full moon for as long as there have been months. Farmers planted by it, calendars were built on it, and most festivals in the world still sit on a lunar date.

We draw on the lunar cycle as a rhythm for reflection. Gathering at the new and full moon creates a regular opportunity to pause, reconnect with yourself and share a mindful practice with others.

By the sea, breathwork, meditation and sound create space to step away from everyday demands. You are welcome to explore the experience in a way that feels meaningful to you.

The moon's traditional associations are offered as a reflective framework for the gathering, rather than as claims about its effects.
